Second trip of the Year 2016.

To Springfield, CO again, this time to shoot. My friend and I were there 3 days and shot 337 dogs, me 165 of them; most on the last day.

It was warm and not to much wind (5 – 15 mph), one day it got a little breezy (under 30 mph). The warm weather melted the snow a little more; that they had two or three weeks ago, muddy in spots. Almost got stuck a couple times, not with my truck this time.

This time I took my 17 Rem FireBall and 20 VarTarg. Both shot well in the wind; most of my shots were under 300 yards though.

  • Loads I've talked about in this and any article work in my rifles, maybe not in yours; work up to them.
  • Used my 20 VarTarg and 17 Rem FireBall
  • Total dogs for this trip: 165
  • TOTAL VARMINTS for the year : 190 on my way to 6,700 for the year; I hope
